Bend Surgery Center's Todd Currier Elected President of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association

We are proud to share that Todd Currier, CASC, CEO and administrator of Bend Surgery Center in Bend, Oregon, has been elected board president of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA), the national organization representing the ASC industry. Todd was elected during a board meeting held in conjunction with the ASCA + SAMBA Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C., May 13 to 16.

A healthcare industry veteran of 20 years, Todd is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Bend Surgery Center. Before joining our team, he served as an ASC administrator in Wyoming, Montana, and Washington state. He is an officer of the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and was an original founder of the state ASC association of Wyoming.

"It is an honor and privilege to step into the role," Todd said. "Our members are the driving force behind this organization, and I look forward to working alongside them."

Looking to the years ahead, Todd has said he will remain focused on supporting ASCA's members in the areas that help them provide safe, high-quality care: advocacy and legislation, free education and benchmarking resources, collaboration with state associations, and the flexibility to adapt to emerging challenges.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Southern Oregon University, is a certified public accountant, and is a fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and anything associated with peace and nature.

The New ASCA Board Officers

Alongside Todd, the ASCA board named three additional officers: Rena Courtay, RN, CASC, vice president of ambulatory surgery at Trinity Health in Cary, North Carolina, as vice president; Jon Van Valkenburg, CASC, executive director of Upstate Orthopedics ASC in East Syracuse, New York, as treasurer; and Raghu Reddy, chief administrative officer of MiOrtho Surgery Center in Southfield, Michigan, as secretary.

The board also elected two new members this year: Allison Stock, RN, CASC, CAIP, chief operations officer at Surgical Management Professionals in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Greg DeConciliis, CASC, administrator of Boston Out-Patient Surgical Suites in Waltham, Massachusetts. Both will begin their terms in January 2027.

Todd and Rena are incumbent members, each opting to run for a second three-year term. Outgoing President Mark Wainner, senior director of ASC acquisition and development at Community Health Systems in Franklin, Tennessee, remains on the board as immediate past president.

A Milestone for Bend

Todd's election places leadership of the national ASC community here in Bend, Oregon, and reflects the experience, commitment, and patient-first values he brings to Bend Surgery Center every day. We congratulate Todd and the entire ASCA board, and we look forward to the work ahead in support of safe, high-quality, accessible surgical care across the country.
