Celebrating Bend Surgery Center’s 2024 Achievements

2024 was an outstanding year for Bend Surgery Center, filled with record-breaking accomplishments, community partnerships, and a thriving workplace culture. We are excited to share some of the highlights across three key areas that defined our success this year: Achievements & Milestones, Community Engagement, and Employee Recognition.

Achievements & Milestones

• High Patient Volume: Our team performed over 19,000 procedures in 2024, marking a new record for Bend Surgery Center and demonstrating our growing impact on patient care in Central Oregon.
• Continued Accreditation Excellence: We successfully completed The Joint Commission’s re-accreditation process in November 2024, extending a streak of quality that dates back to our first accreditation in 1998. Bend Surgery Center remains the only surgery center in Central Oregon with this prestigious Joint Commission accreditation, underscoring our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety and care.
• Innovation in Care: We continue to use advanced surgical techniques and state-of-the-art technologies within our facility. By embracing minimally invasive procedures and cutting-edge equipment, we enhanced patient outcomes and maintained our reputation as a leader in ambulatory surgical care.

Community Engagement

Bend Surgery Center also deepened its community roots in 2024. We proudly continued our role as a Marquee Sponsor of the Tower Theatre in Bend – a partnership we’ve maintained for over 15 years – to support cultural and educational programs in the performing arts. Beyond the arts, we supported various local charities and community health events throughout the year, reinforcing our commitment to giving back and improving the well-being of Central Oregon.

Employee Recognition

Our CULTURE CLUB employee committee had an exceptional year, fostering both staff camaraderie and community involvement. They organized numerous team-building activities – from casual staff lunches and a summer family BBQ to fun bowling nights and even a baseball game outing – along with heartfelt celebrations of birthdays and retirements. In the spirit of giving, the CULTURE CLUB also led outreach efforts: hosting on-site blood drives, donating gifts through a holiday Salvation Army Angel Tree, and rallying a team for the annual Heaven Can Wait 5K breast cancer awareness walk. These efforts not only created memorable moments for our staff but also highlighted their compassion and generosity toward the community.
