CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant

JOB SUMMARY: Functions as an assistant to the registered professional nurse as directed.  Performs patient care within the parameters established by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Directly responsible for keeping the assigned area neat, clean and tidy to inspection.


Education and certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant with the Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification

Experience: Previous experience is desirable, but not necessary.

Job Skills & Requirements: Completion of the specific orientation and on-the-job training program is essential.  Must develop methods for work organization and interpersonal relationship skills.

Physical: Good physical health required because of long periods of standing, walking and work required. Must be well coordinated and able to move about freely.  Dexterity necessary.  Visual and audio acuity.  Speak clearly and distinctly. Neat, clean and particular about appearance. Must be able to continually stoop, bend and lift twenty-five (25) pounds and occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Mental: Stamina to withstand stress and strain.  Good memory, patient and tactful.  Emotional stability.  Able to both listen and direct.  Skilled in organization.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to Pre-Op/PACU Nurse Manager. Is directly responsibleto the Team Lead in the area assigned.  Does not supervise any other staff members.


Full-time- 32 hours per week. Monday through Thursday,  8 hour shifts.  Excellent benefit package and over five weeks of paid time off per year.  Competitive benefit package. Starting wage range $22.00-$27.84 DOE
