Civic Involvement / Sponsorships

The Bend Surgery Center Partner's and Administration feel it is vital to give back to our community in various ways.  We have adopted the policy to provide support to recognized 501(c)(3) Charitable Organizations that are dedicated to improving health, healthcare accessibility, and maintaining arts and entertainment within our entire Central Oregon region.  The organizations listed below are some of the charities that we support on an annual basis.

Bend Surgery Center Foundation

The Bend Surgery Center Foundation was created in July 2009 to provide scholarships to local Central Oregon students who are interested in pursing a career in Healthcare.  The Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) Charitable Foundation.

Tower Theatre

Bend Surgery Center has been a proud sponsor of the Tower Theatre since 2008, and are now title sponsor of the "Bend Surgery Center's Foundation Series" at the Tower.  The sponsorship helps the Bend Surgery Center's Foundation Series bring a series of top-notch national and international artists to Bend.

Heaven Can Wait

A benefit for the Sara Fisher Breast Cancer Project - Bend Surgery Center has provided sponsorship for several years.  Annually, beyond traditional Sponsorships, we have a large contingency of staff members who participate in the walk/run.  We are proud sponsors of this event and will continue to remain involved in this endeavor to promote early screenings and detection of cancer, as well as, encourage a healthly, active lifestyle.

Sparrow Clubs

In 2009 we were a sponsor of the Smith Rock Sunrise Summer Classic 5K/10K/Half Marathon in July.  Proceeds of the race went to the Sparrow Clubs of USA.  Sparrow Clubs is the nation's only youth -based charity of its kind.  Sparrow Clubs not only provides financial and emotional support for critically ill children and their families, but also empowers young people to help a child through charitable service experiences.

Other Sponsorships

We provide annual funding to Bend High School, Summit High School and Mountain View High School for sports programs.  We are supporters of Volunteers in Medicine, Boy Scouts, Growing Tree Children's Center, and occasional relief programs world-wide.
